LISANDRA BRINGS A TASTE OF HOME TO AVALON

Traditional Portuguese music struck a chord with residents at Avalon as part of a day celebrating Portuguese culture led by our lovely Lisandra, who grew up in Portugal. She sang us some classic Portuguese Fado, followed by lively karaoke and dancing.

And what delicious food! A fantastic feast was lovingly prepared by Lisandra and her mum and sister, including Bacalhau com natas (cod fish with cream), cozido à portuguesa (a Portuguese stew) and pastel de nata (egg tarts).

“It was such a joy to bring a slice of home to work,” said Lisandra. “Seeing everyone enjoy the food and the music and join in with the dancing was really special.

“It felt like my family and work came together.”
