Camelot House and Lodge in Wellington hosts charity fundraiser

Last week, Camelot House and Lodge hosted a charity coffee morning, raising £250 for Macmillan Cancer Support.

Staff baked an impressive array of cakes for the event, which was hosted for residents and their families. As well as selling their homemade baked goods alongside teas and coffees, staff members raised additional funds through a raffle. Prizes were donated by staff and relatives.

Zillah Oakes, Manager at Camelot House and Lodge, said: “There’s nothing like a Macmillan Coffee Morning to bring people together to enjoy great chat and delicious cake!

“The team always go above and beyond for our residents, and this coffee morning is just another example of that. Everyone got involved – whether that was by organising prizes for the raffle or pouring time and effort into creating crowd-pleasing treats.

“Working in the care sector, we know how important it is to champion Macmillan Cancer Support. The services they provide are life-changing, so we wanted to play our part in raising some funds to support the charity.

“It was great to welcome so many friends and families to Camelot House and Lodge for the event, and I want to thank everyone for attending and helping us raise money for such a worthy cause.”

The team at Camelot House and Lodge are already planning their next charity fundraiser. They’ll be raising money for Alzheimer’s Society by taking part in their annual Elf Day event on 2nd December.
