Summer fair profits will help achieve Butterfly Lodge vision

The vision of staff at Plymouth's Butterfly Lodge to improve accessibility in the dementia nursing home’s garden is a step closer to being realised thanks to an impressive £800 profit from last weekend’s summer fair.

Residents of Butterfly Lodge in St Budeaux, Plymouth, were delighted to take a trip out in the home’s mini-bus for a fun visit to Tamar View Nurseries in Carkeel. Sarah McCaffrey, deputy manager at the home, said: “Our residents Joan, Margaret, Marian and Avis all said how much they enjoyed the outing.

Residents of Chestnut Lodge Nursing Home in Yeovil have been embracing the spirit of this sunny summer with an action-packed beach day that didn’t require a journey to the coast. The activities team organised a sandcastle challenge, beachball fun, boules ball practice, summer singing and dancing, hook a duck, holiday reminiscing, a wide selection of ice creams, and a summer high tea with home-baked scones to accompany their cuppas.
